Old is Gold for slipping Giants

After the great Thierry Henry`s sensational return to Arsenal it is another legend ,Paul Scholes ,who is preparing to return for Manchester United.
Earlier ,Arsenal has secured loan move for Henry as Gervinho and Chamakh are leaving for Africa cup of nations and Henry has rejoined on short term loan deal as a backup of two.Certainly ,It will be a boost for gunners but there is little chance as few saying that Henry might overshadow likes of RVP and Walcott.Everyone has a great expectation from him but we know that he is not same as he was at 24 and he is has nothing to prove.Henry has warned Arsenal fans over inflated expectation. He said`I am not 25 anymore. I am not going to take the ball from the middle of the park and dribble past five or six players. If you look at Ryan Giggs, it’s not the same Ryan Giggs who used to take the ball from the wing. He is always available, he puts himself in a position where he can receive the ball alone and then you will never lose your touch. That’s what I am going to try to bring to this team if I have to play`. Whatever he says but he is Thierry Henry and expectations are going to be there.Let`s see how it goes.
After this unreal loan deal ,It is believed that Scholes had decided to come to rescue Manchester United from injury crisis.According to reports earlier Scholes has rejected the idea of returning but later he has changed his mind ans said request from 70 year old SAF can prompt another sensational return in BPL history. It is believed that fitness is not going to be a problem as veteran is training every day at Carrington.Scholes`s potential return has already raised eyebrows of rivals.

Fergie reckons Yaya will play

United boss suspects City smokescreen over midfield star.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will not accept Man City will be without Yaya Toure for Sunday's FA Cup derby until he sees their teamsheet.

The Ivory Coast management team informed City on Thursday that Toure was expected to attend a team meeting in Paris on Saturday ahead of a flight to Abu Dhabi for a two-week training camp before the African Nations Cup.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Chelsea won't sell Lampard

Sir Alex Ferguson has attempted to explain why he doesn't expect Manchester United to do any transfer business this month - and that includes signing Frank Lampard from Chelsea.

After successive losses to Blackburn and Newcastle, once again the issue of United's squad is the subject of hot debate amongst Red Devils supporters.

Midfield is an obvious area of concern, which has only heightened since the retirement of Paul Scholes and subsequent long-term absences of Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher.
It is little wonder therefore Lampard's name has appeared in connection with United.

Manchester City plot double trouble for the Reds in FA Cup Derby

Roberto Mancini feels Manchester City could knock Manchester United out of the FA Cup AND damage their title hopes with a win on Sunday.

The Blues boss believes that the race for the Premier League crown has boiled down to a straight fight between the two Manchester clubs and Tottenham.

Sneijder stunner: Inter Milan to tempt Manchester City in bid to land Carlos Tevez

Wesley Sneijder is again set to be dangled by Inter Milan as bait in their bid to land Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.

The Holland midfielder, expected to be a top United target in the summer, is the Italian club’s trump card as they seek to win a race between five clubs for the signature of Tevez.

But City are likely to insist on a cash deal, and Inter’s expected £21million bid – with the first instalment coming in June – would put them in the driving seat, ahead of Serie A rivals AC Milan and Juventus, plus Paris St Germain and Corinthians.

Football transfer rumours: Edinson Cavani to Chelsea?

With rare understatement, the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea scouts have been dispatched "to watch" Napoli striker Edinson Cavani on at least five occasions this season.

It has long been the Rumour Mill's contention that one does not merely "watch" Edinson Cavani, but instead gazes in unabashed awe upon this flawless specimen of physical perfection with a kind of devout religious fervour, marvelling at the sheen of that sleek, lank, sweat-drenched shoulder-length mane and those angular cheekbones chiselled into a perfectly proportioned face lit up by a beatific smile and sparkling warm brown eyes.

Newcastle United 3 Manchester United 0: match report

Two consecutive losses for the Champions puts Manchester City 3 points clear on the top.
Another night, another compelling episode of the great Premier League soap opera, this time starring North-eastenders. Newcastle United were outstanding from back to front, from flank to flank, utterly embarrassing the listless champions as St James’ Park shook with delight.
The architect of this victory was Alan Pardew, the silver fox whose players responded with alacrity to his bright and bold tactics.
Newcastle’s manager went for the jugular, playing two up top, Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi, who swarmed all over Rio Ferdinand and Phil Jones.

Arsenal's Mario Gotze transfer hopes dashed by Borussia Dortmund

Arsenal will not be signing Mario Gotze now or in the summer, according to the player's club, Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old is the Bundesliga outfit's star player, having had a key role in the club's 2010-11 league title win and becoming a feature of Joachim Low's Germany team.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the attacking midfielder, who won the 2011 Golden Boy award for the best player in Europe under the age of 21, and had been believed to be readying a substantial transfer bid after an enquiry was rebuffed on the last day of the August transfer window.

Cabaye: United still title favourites

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye believes that Manchester United's experience and teamwork will give them the edge over rivals Manchester City in the title race.

Cabaye has been a vital part of Newcastle's surge this season, pushing the Magpies to 7th place in the Premier League alongside more illustrous clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal.
Ahead of their clash against defending champions Manchester United at the Sports Direct Arena, Cabaye believes that their opponents still have the edge in the title race between the two Manchester sides.

Once again late goal and Big fish lost it.

This time it was Arsenal at receiving end. This loss cost them golden chance to retain 4th place because Chelsea is not going to loose all the time.
Arsenal has started as favorite and at the begging it was looking like they are going to clinch 3 points easily.Arsenal enjoyed opening as Gervinho,Ramsey and RVP were testing defense of Fulham and it was rewarded by a goal after creating few chances.Koscienly scored first goal of season on deflected pass of Ramsey and stage was set for arsenal to go home with 3 points. They nearly doubled the lead but it was excellent double save by David which prevented it but after that Bryan ruiz become influential in midfield and before half time Fulham saw sign of come back.
After the interval Martin Jol`s men were looking fresh, energetic and confident but still arsenal was hanging there and leading the game but it was Fulham which was running the saw and force gunners to defend 1-0 lead.Just like Arsenal it was Fulham in second half which was creating chances and getting closure to net equalizer. But it was Red for Djourou which changed the game after that Fulham put extra men on attack and finally scored equalizer thanks to Szczesny`s misjudged corner kick of Ruiz.Arsenal was left to defend one point but still Fulham has not given up and was searching for winner with more hunger.Zamora`s left foot wally has clinched the point from Arsen Wenger`s side.It was well deserved win for Fulham.
Star of the match : Bryan Ruiz

Government Of India Puts 'John Terry' On Anti-Smoking Adverts

In a bizarre incident of sorts, the Chelsea skipper allegedly finds himself on cigarette packets in India...
Do you think its John Terry?

John Terry finds himself at the centre of yet another controversy after a hazy image of his face was part of the anti-smoking pictorial warnings designed by India’s Directorate of Visual Publicity (DAVP) and approved by the Health Ministry for use on cigarette packets in the country.

The England captain is already hogging the headlines for the wrong reasons as he faces criminal charges for allegedly racially abusing QPR’s Anton Ferdinand.

Henry to be handed No.12 shirt

Thierry Henry would wear the No.12 shirt if he returns to Arsenal on a proposed two-month loan deal.
The Frenchman is a step closer to making an amazing comeback to the Premier League after the North London club offered him a short-term deal until March when he returns to the New York Red Bulls.
That has led to speculation over what shirt number he would be handed at the Emirates, with his legendary No.14 currently taken by Theo Walcott.
According to The Daily Mail, the 34-year-old will be handed the No.12 shirt during his two-month stint with the Gunners - the number he donned for France.
Meanwhile, Wenger has warned Arsenal fans not to expect the Henry of 10 years ago.
"You can never take away from people what they have done, that will remain forever. Nobody expects him to be what he was 10 years ago, we just want him to help out.

Papers: City eye double raid on Manchester United

United fear a City raid

Manchester United are facing a fight to keep two of their brightest young stars out of the hands of rivals Manchester City. Teenagers Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba, key figures in United’s FA Youth Cup-winning team last season, are both out of contract at the end of the season. And City are heading a queue of top clubs ready to pounce if one or both refuse to sign new deals and become free agents. United would be entitled to compensation for development costs because both players are under 24, but it would be a bitter blow to lose such talented youngsters – especially to their closest rivals. Sir Alex Ferguson wants to keep Morrison and Pogba, both 18, and has included them in his first-team squad and Carling Cup ties.

Suarez banned for Fulham finger

Suarez will miss Liverpool's clash with Newcastle on Friday night after being hit with a one-match ban for his rude gesture at Fulham fans.

The Uruguayan striker, who has an eight-match suspension hanging over him for his racist abuse of Patrice Evra, has also been fined £20,000 for sticking up his middle finger at the Cottagers supporters.

Liverpool have also been clobbered with a £20,000 fine by the FA for failing to control their players in the melee which followed Jay Spearing's sending off during the 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage earlier this month.

Redknapp: Bale won't be sold

Harry Redknapp thinks only Manchester City, Barcelona or Real Madrid could afford to buy Gareth Bale - but he insists Tottenham will not sell.

Redknapp has warned any interested party that Wales star Bale is not for sale after watching him tear Norwich apart on Tuesday night.

Bale scored both goals at Carrow Road as Spurs moved to within seven points of the Premier League summit with an easy 2-0 win over Paul Lambert's team.

The Welshman opened the scoring after turning home Emmanuel Adebayor's pass from 12 yards in the second half, before lobbing John Ruddy with an exquisite chip after racing through on a dash that began on the halfway line.

Arsenal 1-1 Wolves: Analysis

Johan Djourou passed a late fitness test and Song returned from suspension but Walcott missed out through injury and the tired looking Ramsey dropped to the bench meaning Arsenal started with: Szczesny; Djourou, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen; Song; Benayoun, Arteta, Rosicky, Gervinho and van Persie (C). This team lined-up a day later than expected against a Wolves side consisting of Hennessey; Zubar, Berra, Johnson (C), Ward; Hunt, Henry, Milijas, Forde, Jarvis and Fletcher who had only picked up one point in their last three league games.

Arsenal started reasonably brightly with Gervinho running at Zubar and winning a corner after just a minute. However, this was easily dealt with by Hennessey and Wolves negotiated the next few minutes with ease. Jarvis, having already beaten Djourou once, ran at the right back again and easily beat the Swiss man for pace before his attempted cut back was blocked. Arsenal broke immediately and Benayoun played an incisive through ball that split the Wolves defence far too easily. Gervinho latched on to it, going round the Welsh keeper and just about keeping his balance before slotting home: 1-0, eight minutes gone.

Wolves reacted well, attacking down both flanks – Jarvis was having the most success on the Wolves left as Djourou was struggling to deal with his pace. Vermaelen attacked down Arsenal’s left but his shot was blocked by Johnson. Benayoun again played a good through ball, this time to van Persie and the Dutchman had plenty of time and space due to Johnson slipping at an inopportune moment; RVP was unaware of this and thus snatched at his shot, dragging it wide of Hennessey’s right hand post. Benayoun, this time on the left, cut inside and drove at the Wolves defence but was unfortunate to lose his footing as he reached the penalty area.

Arsenal were completely dominating the possession, but much of it was in the defence and midfield as Wolves sat back, content with defending. Van Persie exchanged passes with Gervinho before attempting a little chip across the box but it was headed out for a corner. Van Persie then whipped in an excellent corner, but it was easily headed away by an organised Wolves defence. Van Persie worked another opportunity, unleashing a shot that was saved by Hennessey at the near post. The Dutchman broke once more and this time Johnson brought him down just outside the box, picking up a yellow card for his trouble. Arteta took the resulting free kick and although it was on target, the Welsh keeper collected it easily enough. Wolves survived this pressure and came back on the attack, eventually working a corner.

It was from this corner that Wolves struck back: the first ball in was cleared but Hunt controlled on the edge of the box and shot. It was a poor attempt but deflected right on to Fletcher’s head and the Scottish international directed his header in to the far corner, wrong-footing Szczesny in goal. The final five minutes of the half were rather flat and although Arsenal pushed for a goal, Wolves were happy with the scoreline and the closest Arsenal came was a Rosicky shot that was easily saved. At half time, Arsenal had totally dominated but had not made full use of the possession. Wolves had mainly sat back, offering some danger on the flanks, but they had not shown enough to really deserve their lucky goal.

The second half started very slowly, with Zubar going down injured twice in the first five minutes before being replaced by Spearman. As in the first half, Arsenal kept the possession but Wolves were happy defending and the Gunners struggled to break them down. A number of crosses were being thrown into the Wolves box, but to no avail as Johnson and Berra dealt with them easily. However, one such cross from Koscielny appeared to strike a Wolves hand. Arsenal appealed strongly, although not overly aggressively. Despite this, the referee saw no need to award a penalty and in fact decided to book Vermaelen for his complaints. Just to rile Arsenal fans even more, Stuart Atwell proceeded to award a handball against Vermaelen a minute later.
Gervinho made an excellent run but his ball was just too far in front of Song, as the Cameroonian was on his heels, and Wolves cleared. Arshavin replaced Benayoun, who was quiet in the second half, as the Gunners searched for a goal. Gervinho was rugby-tackled by Henry as he ran at the defence and although the free kick was given, a booking was distinctly lacking. It appeared as if Arteta would strike it, but as Arsenal looked to surprise Wolves with van Persie taking it the clueless referee got in his way, meaning Wolves now knew what was coming. At the second attempt the Dutchman had a free run at the ball and struck a vicious free kick that was well tipped over by Hennessey.

The corner was taken and eventually it was worked to Mertesacker, but his header was saved fantastically by the keeper. The pressure was being piled on and Wolves were struggling to break out. Then came the first of many flashpoints in the last half an hour of the game: Song was fouled but Atwell again gave nothing, leaving Song to take retribution into his own hands, fouling two players poorly within a second and deservedly receiving a yellow card – Wolves felt it should have been more. Wolves went forward for what seemed the first time in ages and although it came to nothing, Johnson and Vermaelen squared up and Atwell attempted in vain to calm them down – he was completely losing control of the game.

A clash of heads between Chamakh and RVP gave Wolves another break before Rosicky again played in van Persie, but his touch let him down and Wolves cleared. The ball came straight back and Hennessey made another outstanding save, this time from Vermaelen, as they entered the first of six added minutes. Hennessey was booked for taking an age with his goal kick, but other than that Wolves saw out stoppage time well with no clear cut chances despite the enormous pressure. Arsenal fans were left feeling frustrated at Atwell, Wolves’s tactics and the unbelievable performance from Hennessey – even by Emirates Stadium opposition standards he was top-notch. This result now piles the pressure on us to win against both QPR and Fulham which will be tough with those two games being played within three days. Players will need to be rested and they will be a real test of the depth of our squad – by Monday evening we will really know what signings we need in January.

Tottenham vs Chelsea Preview

All eyes will be on John Terry when Chelsea take on London derby rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the final Premier League match before Christmas.

Redknapp hoping Lampard is left out again Harry Redknapp is hoping Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas will leave Frank Lampard on the bench for Thursday's mouth-watering London derby at White Hart Lane.
Lampard has been a regular starter for Chelsea for most of the last decade, but has had to play a largely peripheral role recently, starting three of the last six games from the bench.
The 33-year-old returned to the Chelsea starting line-up last weekend at Wigan, but the Blues' failure to beat Roberto Martinez's strugglers may cause Villas-Boas to make changes in midfield again.
