Goals from Chicharito and Vidic may well have secured the 19th Premier League title for Manchester United.
Th game started with a bang! J.S. Park delivering a through ball to Hernandez and he scored with the time on clock just 26 seconds. A dream start for Manchester Untied. For the opening 20 minutes J.S. Park was under the nose of Chelsea following the players and winning the balls. There were no surprises in either line-ups. Patrice Evra was missing for Manchester United so John O'Shea filled in at left back with Fabio playing the right back. Chelsea started with Drogba upfront alongwith Malouda and Kalou.
On the 22nd minute J.S. Park was in action again, blasting a shot which was deflected for a corner by Petr Cech and from the resulting corner, Nemanja Vidic scored the 2nd goal for Manchester United and it seemed that the title might well be in grabs.
Ashley Cole was not allowed to advance as Antonio Valencia outplayed him throughout the match. Wayne Rooney had many chances but he failed to score in any. In the second half, United might have had a penalty when Frank Lampard handled the ball from Antonio Valencia, but the referee denied and the play continued. There were plenty of half-time subsitutions with David Luiz and Obi Mikel going off for Chelsea and replaced with Alex and Ramires. United also made a substitution at the half time replacing John O'Shea with J. Evans. In the 61th minute Carlo Ancelotti decided to bring in Torres in place of Solomon Kalou to partner Didier Drogba. But the 9/11 (Drogba/Torres) pair has never scored a goal when they are together on the pitch.
On the 69th minute Chelsea had a ray of hope when Frank Lampard scored a goal for Chelsea. And for the first time Sir Alex Ferguson got off his seat to direct traffic. Manchester United had several chances on the counter attack but failed to score in any. Wayne Rooney was denied from a close range by a diving Alex.
The final whistle was music to the ears of Manchester United fans, as the Barclays Premier league title looks well secured now for them, since United need now only 1 point from the remaining 2 games to seal the title.
