Arsenal 1993 Carling Cup winning team |
Birmingham City 1963 Carling Cup winning team |
Arsenal last won a trophy in 2005, that was their FA Cup triumph against Manchester United. Arsenal ran out winners after 120 goalless minutes despite being outplayed throughout the game, becoming the first club to win the cup on penalties. It was the first goalless draw in an FA Cup final since 1912.
This time, Arsenal look to capture the Carling Cup, which they won last in 1993 and were runners up in 2007, losing to Chelsea 2-1. This time also, they face the "BLUES" but not Chelsea, this time its Birmingham City, they have last won the Carling Cup way back in 1963 and had been runners up in 2001.
Arsenal would be without Theo Walcott, who suffered an injury in a 1-0 victory against Stoke, and also their Captain Cesc Fabregas is a major doubt. Will Arsenal finally end their trophy draught or will Birmingham City take away the glory from them and win the Cup after 48 years.
