Wilshere: It was the night of my life

Teenage midfielder Jack Wilshere rates the victory over Barcelona as the highlight of his fledgling Arsenal career.

The 19-year-old England international produced an outstanding display as the Gunners mounted a memorable fightback to claim a 2-1 success in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 showdown at Emirates Stadium.
Trailing to David Villa's first-half opener with Barca at their brilliant best in the opening 45 minutes, Arsene Wenger's men turned the match on its head after the break with late goals from Robin van Persie and Arshavin.
Wilshere admitted the home side were on the back foot for long stages in the opening period but felt their tactics paid dividends in the end.
He told Sky Sports News: "It has been a crazy last couple of weeks and this probably tops it. This has been my best day as an Arsenal player by far.
"It is not over yet. We have got the second leg and we have to go there and get a result and go through to the quarters.
"They had a spell of 20 minutes in the first half when we couldn't get the ball off them.
"We knew they were going to be like that, we just had to hold out and defend well and hit them on the counter-attack, and that's what we did."
And Andrey Arshavin admitted he had never known at atmosphere like it at the Emirates after slotting home the winner following a stunning move involving Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi.
The Russian playmaker said: "Barca controlled the ball very well but we did not let them play as usually they can and we took our chances to score two goals.
"I thought if I have a chance I have to score and I did it. I am happy. That may be the best atmosphere since I joined Arsenal.
"It gives us confidence in the future but we still need to concentrate because Barcelona is going to be a very, very tough game.
"Without belief we can do nothing, that is why we must believe."
