'It would make me very, very happy if Real Madrid play Manchester United in the Champions League final' - Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese forward admits he had six great years at Old Trafford prior to moving to Spain and claims he would love to face his former side in the showpiece final at Wembley.Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he would love to face his former club Manchester United at Wembley in the Champions League final.

While the Red Devils swept Chelsea aside to set up a semi-final tie with Bundesliga outfit Schalke, Ronaldo helped his side Real Madrid team-mates overcome Tottenham to ensure a mouth-watering tie with bitter rivals Barcelona.

"I want to play Manchester United," Ronaldo said, as quoted by the Daily Telegraph.

"If you ask me if I want to sign up to play for Real Madrid against Manchester United in the final at Wembley then of course I will. That would make me very, very happy. I've still got a lot of friends there, memories, and I'd love that to happen. I had six great years there."

Barcelona have been tipped as favourites to win the competition and Ronaldo is adamant that the fixture between the two Spanish sides is a contest between the best two club sides in the world.

"The final seems a very long way in the future," he added. "I don't like the word revenge. At the moment, we are the best two teams in the world. It will make everyone in the world sit up and watch the game. We have improved and we have to believe we can do it."
